Fear Always Wins the Race—IF You Let It
Let’s talk about fear.
You may have read the title and immediately thought, “Well that’s not very encouraging.” But hold up—it’s not the whole sentence.
Fear always wins the race... IF you let it.
That little word IF is everything!
Fear only wins if we give it permission.
I remember when my pastor told me what fear really stands for:
False Evidence Appearing Real
That simple definition flipped everything for me. Fear isn’t always rooted in truth. It’s rooted in worry, doubt, and perceptions—especially those of others.
Years ago, I was afraid to embrace my natural hair. Not because of the curls, coils, or the care it required, but because of how I thought people would view me. And I know many women who still feel this way today.
But is the fear truly about your hair?
Or is it really about how others might respond to your hair?
We live in a world where people love to give their opinions. But as the old saying goes, opinions are like buttholes—everyone has one. 😏
The only opinion that should matter when it comes to your hair, your beauty, your identity—is yours.
So let’s take a step back and ask:
What’s the real fear holding you back? Is it rejection? Judgment? Change?
Once you face that, the rest becomes lighter.
-
Hair care becomes manageable.
-
Products actually perform.
-
Confidence grows.
When you stop letting fear drive your decisions, you start to show up for yourself—fully, unapologetically, and beautifully.
So no—fear doesn’t have to win.
Not this time. Not anymore.
You got this.
